The Scilla Diving Center has been operational for more than ten years, and a lot of things have changed in these years. Tha location is at the beginning of Chianalea (the oldest quarter of Scilla), with a sea view. It is easily accessible by car and has a parking area.
The Diving Center has a total surface of more than 300 square meters : technical area, classroom, office, all of this organised around a beautiful terrace. This is the starting point of all dives, night dives included.
Most of the dive sites are right in front of the Diving Center, not more than 15 minutes away by boat. In between dives you will be able to relax on the terrace.
The scheduling of the dives depends on the particular currents of that area and will vary from 9:30 AM to afternoon and night dives, enabling each and everyone to find his own rythm. The Diving Courses will usually be held during the afternoon : It is possible to follow the SSI Courses, with the deliverance of an International Certification, from Open Water Level up to Divecontrol Level. During the peak season, we will make up to 8/9 trips a day, with groups of not more than 10 people, always accompanied by a guide from the Diving Center. We would like to underline the fact that the underwater guides of the Scilla Diving Center have been with us since 1990, which means that they have a perfect knowledge of the different dive sites, (as well as of the wishes of the customers), which they have acquired in thousands of dives. You will furthermore be able to store and rinse your equipment at the Diving Center, as well as rent whatever piece of equipment you might need, ranging from masks to underwater scooters. Given the short distance from the Diving Center to the dive sites, you will embark on functional zodiacs straight from the terrace and will be underwater in no time | The Diving Center has undoubtedly evolved over these years of growing success, but we can assure you that the exceptional underwater sites of Scilla, as well our enthusiam has remained unaltered.

Scilla is located at the entrance of the Messina Straits, at the tip of Calabria. It is a very ancient village, that was already inhabited during Antiquity and to which a lot of legends are bound.
Central in Scilla is the big rock, on top of which lies th e Ruffo Castle. This rock divides the two quarters of Scilla, Marina Grande and Chianalea, that both lie on the shore, whereas the third quarter, San Giorgio, is on top of the rock, behind the Castle. A stay in Scilla is a regenerating break to city life. The rythm of nature still rules the days, and although the summer period is busier, it is limited to Marina Grande and never reaches mass tourism . You will not find the stress and traffic of more tre ndy places, but you will always be able to enjoy a bier or an ice cream in one of the bars of the Marina. There are several restaurants, specialised in sea food and more particularly sword fish, which is still caught with a spear, following the antique me thod. To the most demanding, we highly recommend the Kerkira Tavern, at Bagnara Calabra, a few minutes by car from Scilla. For those interested in the sceneries of the Aspromonte mountains, guided tours can be organised, leaving from Scilla, for Trekking or with 4 wheel drive vehicles. Less adventurous but by no means less interesting are the visits to the Museum of Magnagrecia at Reggio Calabria and to the multitude of small villages scattered along the Jonica Coast.
